University of Arkansas Freshmen & Transfer scholarships grants
These are provided to freshmen and transfer students and due to the high number of applicants, they are usually awarded based on application, SAT and ACT scores, and the student’s academic rating in line with their official high school transcript.
Some of the scholarships that are available here include Donaghey Scholars Program that provides up to $80,000 for 4 years, catering for tuition and fees. The recipient also enjoys an annual stipend of between $6,000 and $10,000, the ability to study abroad, their personal laptop and subsidized housing.
The Chancellor’s Academic Distinction Award provides $40,000 to the students for 4 years which is broken down into $10,000 every academic year. The applicant must have attained a minimum of 30 ACT or a 3.0 GPA and has to be a permanent resident in the US, living on campus.
Provost’s Academic Excellence is provided to those students who meet at least a 3.0 GPA, live in campus and are permanent residents or citizens in the US. Successful applicants will receive $8,000 for each academic year they are enrolled in school.
Others include the Dean’s Academic Merit worth $6,000 for each academic year, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Academic Achievement worth $4,000 per academic year, the Freshman Award worth $2,000 per academic year and the New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award which caters to between 80% and 90% of the difference between the tuition costs for resident and non-resident students for the applicant.
Albert D. & Marcuse S. Cohn Scholarships from the University of Arkansas
This is a general scholarship that is provided to students who can demonstrate a good academic standing and maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 and face dire financial need.
Andrew Crittenden Mitchell College Scholarships & Grants
This scholarship is available to both full and part-time students who are enrolled in University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Before award, the board often considers academic competence and the applicant’s demonstrated financial need.
Asa Jean Woolfolk Scholarships and Grants
Full time and part-time students who major in Finance or Mathematics, with a special regard on Insurance are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. In as much as financial need is often considered before the award is given out, the most important criteria for receiving this award is a demonstrated academic achievement.
Bernice & Curtis Harris Endowed Scholarships and Grants
This scholarship is awarded to part-time and full-time students who are pursuing their undergraduate degrees. Such students must however be of financial need, especially because academic performance is only considered as a secondary measure.
