If you are unsure of the procedure you will have to follow or if you don’t even know where to start, maybe the following easy scholarship tips can help you find a few useful guidelines to help you decide on a school and on a financial aid provider.
1. The first thing is to look around your home-town for teaching institutions that offer lots of available places for the next school period. The best choices are those that have lots of sponsors which can help your children with scholarships for a private high school, without having to worry yourself. There are some schools that have their own means of financing, and they usually use the scholarship students number as an advertising means. For example, there are private schools that offer scholarships for extraordinary students. If a school is lacking at some point African-American students, then they will be more inclined to admit them, and will even advertise scholarships they have for that type of students. 6. Even if the scholarships for private high schools are usually based on the particular financial needs of each family, it doesn’t hurt proving your child’s school performances. Allow teachers from the new schools to talk to the child, make him take part in some tests of that school and make sure he scores high. Also, talk to the teachers in his previous school, and select those that like your child the most. Then ask then to address recommendation letters to each of the private schools you have in mind.
7. Evaluate your situation. There are schools that offer special scholarships for children who live in the same town, while others offer them to children that are not resident in that particular town. There are high schools offering scholarships for children gifted in math, others for those inclined towards literature. Discovering your child’s special talents will aid you a lot in being granted a scholarship in the most prestigious high schools.

It exists for the purposes of helping families to pay for tuition at private schools, but is only available to those families that qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program. The program only pays up to $2000 annually for the lower grades and up to $3000 annually for students in grades nine through twelve.

The Young Scholars Program which is provided by the fast food chain Kentuckey Fried Chicken, administers financial support during high school to low and moderate income high school students who demonstrate academic and extracurricular superiority. Students may apply during the 7th grade, and the deadline is in early May. You may be able to receive funding for high school (9-12). Academic support and mentoring in addition to financial support is all included. Summer programs, music and art instruction, and computers and software or other learning tools may all be supported with monies given for these programs. College scholarships and graduate fellowships can also be awarded from the KFC scholarship scholars plan. Scholars are selected from among more than 1,000 applications each year and 75-80 recieve the KFC scholars scholarship. The lower the household income is the better the chances of recieving aid.

have your parents visit the high school in person meeting with the financial aids administrator for the school to find out the qualifying guidelines and to see what programs they have available. Go with them too so they can meet you. Doors seem to open up quicker when you meet in person. Financial need is top on the list for qualifying with most private high schools.

I would like to know if there are any available scholarships for a senior in high school retuning to class this fall (09); for private high school tuition, beyond the usual deadlines, due to a families personal hardship that was unexpected because of being newly diagnosed disabled, the injured parent is unable to work; still in the process of applications for SSDI and even Social Service benefits? The prior 6 years of Private Catholic Schooling will be lost if the student misses the final year of High School, any realistic suggestions? Help!!!! you must call your high school financial aids office and discuss this matter with them. You may want to call the principal of the school & speak to him directly about your situation. He may be able to assist you on this matter. Your situation sounds like you can be helped because of a demonstration of need, as well as disability aid. Also, call the state in which you reside and speak to the Educational department about your matter. They may be able to direct you in the right direction if they can’t help directly.

Contact the Educational department in your state and explain your situation to them and ask for some type of educational financial guidance in regards to scholarships/grants/loans & aid for high school students to help finance your son’s high school education. In todays economy this may your best road. You may be able to apply for some type of need based financial aid.

hi my husband recently passed away without life or health insurance also my home is currently in foreclosure my youngest child is entering 8th grade catholic school. my middle is entering 10th grade catholic high school and since I still have an outstanding tuition balance for the 2010-2011 school year my daughter was not allowed to take her final exams. The school knows my situation and yet it is almost august and she has yet to take her 9th grade final exams. Im stuck between a rock and a hard place because I cant begin to think about 10th grade when I still need to find a way to pay for the ninth grade. I am currently residing in Australia but my kids and I are all US citizens (as well as Australian) My eldest son is shaping up to be a great swimmer. His twin sister is an academic and my youngest is both. As my son is moving up the ranks with swimming I am thinking about who he should swim for. I read that Team USA swimming will not allow swimmers who have competed for another nation. I feel I have to move to USA to give him the opportunity to swim for USA before he reaches his full potential. I have looked online for swim clubs and high performing swim schools, whilst taking into consideration the academic requirements for my twin daughter. I have tried to allow the kids to be separate as much as possible so they each shine in their own way to the point of sending them to separate high schools at grade 7 in Australia. I cannot find anything online re swimming scholarships for high school students. I need to find a situation where he can get as much competition as possible. We are in a capital city in Australia which means we do not have to travel far in order for him to get some stiff competition. I feel that a similar situation in USA would also be beneficial. I appreciate that there are swim meets all across USA but that would mean a lot of domestic travel for the family. Can you offer up any suggestions?

I think your on the right track for what you are doing already. You have a lot of variables going on and my only suggestion is to look into scholarships to apply for which may be a good fit, if they are available for your family.

you may want to check the state your living in to see what high school student aid they may have – if any. Many times the sate can direct you in the right direction. I would call the state educational department.Or you can search out other Catholic high schools to inquire into their programs.
